The Police are the public employees who enforce the law and maintain order. Sir Robert Peel founded the in London in 1829. They have been called Bobbies, after Peel's nickname, ever since. This 7cm tall figure is made of  resin and is hand painted.

The Policeman is supplied in clear acetate box with a full colour card insert. The card has a background showing the main London sites including the Tower of London, Big Ben and Buckingham Palace where the figure stands. On the reverse there is historical information.

Charles was King of England and Scotland (1625-49). His disagreements with Parliament led to the English Civil War (1642-48). In 1649 Charles was summarily tried for treason and executed. This 7cm tall figure is made of  resin and is hand painted.

This knight is wearing a full-length mail hauberk. His surcoat is emblazoned with the arms of the order of St John and there is a Maltese Cross decorating his shield. This 7cm tall Knight is made of  resin and is hand painted.

Elizabeth was the daughter of Henry VIII and was Queen of England from 1558 until her death in 1603. Her navy defeated the Spanish Armada in 1558 as well as exploring many uncharted regions. This 7cm tall Elizabeth I figure is made of  resin and is hand painted.

This archer is armed with a longbow, sword and small dagger. He is wearing a chain mail tunic and has an iron cap protecting his head. These archers proved to be very effective at the battles of Crecy (1346) and Agincourt (1415). This 7cm tall Archer is made of  resin and is hand painted.

Henry VIII became King of England in 1509. He was the first English monarch to have a navy and founded the Royal Armouries. Henry had six wives during his reign. This 7cm tall Henry VIII figure is made of  resin and is hand painted.

King Henry VIII founded the royal armour workshop at Greenwich Palace in 1515. Top rank craftsmen were brought in from Germany to Greenwich and the foot combat armour, reproduced here as a highly accurate 15cm tall metal miniature (18cm spear), is the first surviving example of their work. The suit is extremely unusual, encasing the whole of the body in armour and leaving no gaps at all.

By 1415 a man at arms would be covered from head to toe in polished steel armour. Under this he would wear a padded jerkin (akheton) to prevent the metal rubbing and to absorb some of the force of an arrow. This 7cm tall Knight is made of  resin and is hand painted.

This knight is wearing a chain mail hauberk with full length sleeves with a padded aketon or gambeson underneath. His helmet consists of a one-piece dome reinforced with iron straps and has been given a face mask. This 8cm tall knight is made of  resin and is hand painted.

The Scots Guards were formed in 1642 as King James' I royal guard. Today their ceremonial duties can be seen in London around Buckingham Palace and at the Tower of London. This 7cm tall figure is made of  resin and is hand painted.

This Crusader is wearing a surcoat, that may have been made of silk, with a lion (rampant) upon it.
This is worn over a mail, long sleeved, hauberk. On his head he has a mail coif that would have
been worn under a great helm. He is armed with a large sword of war and may also have had a
dagger and shield. This 8.5cm tall knight is made of  resin and is hand painted.
